take the following into consideration:
- jack is MUCH stronger than he lets on, the only reason why his strength is the way it is is because his believer base is so small. think about North, &. how his strength started failing when there were little to no children who believed in him, what if JACK is like that ? like, that sudden burst of power against pitch is the norm for him, it’s just because he has NO ONE that believes in his existence. because, let’s be honest, winter can be pretty destructive.
- speaking of winter being destructive, ice storms ( for the most part ) are accidents. jack doesn’t like rain because of the way it freezes on his skin, so he tries to avoid it. if the wind doesn’t tell him ahead of time &. he gets stuck in a storm, the cold that he brings with him just so HAPPENS to end up freezing everything. he’s not intentionally trying to cause pain &. suffering, he’s not really like that . . . i mean, unless he’s in a really bad mood.
- speaking of bad moods. jack is not always a happy - go - lucky winter spirit, he has his bad days too. he also doesn’t know how to deal with his temper very well, since most of his life has been spent SHOVING DOWN emotions ? so he tries to do that with anger &. that never works out. eventually he’ll explode &. end up creating some huge blizzard that’s hazardous to the health of others &. he’ll almost ALWAYS feel bad about it afterwards. he tries to isolate himself sometimes when making storms of that magnitude, but sometimes they travel or he just doesn’t have the time to.
- on a happier note, jack likes to express his creative side by creating ice sculptures &. shaping the clouds. yeah, you see that vaguely DRAGON - SHAPED puff in the sky, jack was nearby. &. clearly since he created a fairly accurate depiction of sandman using frost, he’s not half bad at making these things either.
